"Can you confirm that pin 9 is connected to pin 5 directly?"

You can tell you're at nerd camp when you're hanging out in someone's dorm room and you hear the previous question asked in a very serious tone.

On Friday evening I saw Mamma Mia! from the mezzanine for a mere twenty-five dollars! Omicunt, it was so good. First of all, ABBA music is so cheerful and upbeat [I swear I'm dyslexic: I honestly just wrote "ubpeat"]. Besides the music, the storyline was pretty adorable and best of all, there were dancing, singing boys in wetsuits. What more could a girl ask for?

The first act ended and left you wanting to dance [it was so dificult to stay in my seat the whole time], but there was also a sad realisation that they'd sung all the good songs already. The second act was filled with perhaps a bit more slow, boring songs than necessary with the one exception of "Does Your Mother Know." Pepper = tolly teh hot.

When the musical finally ended, it was on a romantic, walking off into the moonlight note, which was really disappointing. But then after the curtain call, everyone came out again and they sang all the fun upbeat songs and everyone in the audience stood up and danced and ooh, 'twas so much fun. V. concert-esque.

Then walking back to the dorm was also so much fun because we were all happy and singing and dancing. Hurrah!

On Saturday I walked a gajillion miles to the Museum of Science, but it was worth it, I suppose. Really fun interactive exhibits + lightning/electricity/Tesla coil [Jack White, teehee] presentation + random Indian dancing. Thumbs up.

Afterward I went with Kali and a crowd of other people to Harvard Square to meet her friend who's doing some Harvard summer program. I bought a pink Harvard lanyard from the Harvard Coop and am now wearing my MIT card on it. Ahh, the glorious scent of irony!

I finished the evening seeing a performance of Much Ado About Nothing on the Boston Common. Such a delightful play. It made me want to watch the Kenneth Branagh version again, although perhaps without Keanu Reeves. Erlack-a-mother-gogo.

Sunday was a lazy day, except for the part where I woke up at 9:30 to go to a vegetarian brunch rather than a scary Dim Sum with unidentifiable possibly meat-containing dishes later in the afternoon. I had waffles with strawberries, blueberries, and bananas plus homefries and it was absolutely scrumdiddlyumptious. But the good food coupled with walking back to the dorm from Harvard Square equalled one tired me, so I lounged in bed whilst drawing and listening to music.

Then we borrowed Dirty Dancing from the front desk and spent a year wandering around buildings 1, 3, 5, and 7, trying to find an empty, unlocked room to watch it in. And I was in my boxers, which made it even more special. I realised I don't mind wearing ridiculous things like knee-high hot pink boots or legwarmers with flip-flops [jandals!] in public, but normal embarrassing things like pajamas make me self-conscious.

We eventually were tipped off to go to 10-250, even though I'd been suggesting it from the beginning. *shakes head sadly* If only people would listen. So yeah, that was a fun movie. And 10-250 basically acts as a personal movie theatre [lecture halls are rather similar to theaters, if you think about it], so the experience was quite special. Mmmm, Patrick Swayze's chest.

And then we ate dinner, watched A Fish Called Wanda, and hung around in various people's rooms.

We also decided we would talk in British accents for the rest of the week. Cheerio, darlings!

Should you put adverbs at the end of the sentence if the aforementioned sentence is a question?

Aw, sad, Kate - I didn't know you had just one friend... Not that I'm surprised and all - because can we have more than one mountain lion in the jungle? I don't think so.

Anyways - I do believe that the "year" should be changed to "eight hours," and the Kenneth Branagh version of the play was absolutely adorable.

I'm sure we could avoid Stray Travelling Garbage Cans and Men Who Laugh Strangely if we saw it as a movie.

There was a question about "A Fish Called Wanda" in this Quiz I took. But I dont remember what it was. I love being so informative. :)

Maybe you feel self-concious in pajamas because you sleep in them, and not crazy-ish clothes, and sleep is a non-public (lackof)activity?

So was pin 9 directly connected to pin 5 or not? Or was it perhaps connected indirectly?

Posted by: yer mother on 21.07.04 16:49

It's absolutly relative anyway.

have much more fun!
when you come home i'll be excited to absord the information in your head. I'm smarter when there is one person ridicously smarter then me who isn't showing it off. I'm dumber when a great number of people are smarter then me. I'm smart when i appear to have more knowledge then others but really don't

"Knowledge cannot be stopped. Information should be free for everyone." That's on the MIT website, ask around if your pal Allan could go there for Grad School and get some of this free knowledge disseminated freely.

Oh, and are you going to the Dance Party in Cambridge tonight? I'm sure it would make for a racy blog entry.
