Jonathan Rhys-Meyers is so gorgeous! Have strong desire to see Bend it Like Beckham again. Ewan MacGregor did not look half bad with long blond hair, either. Music was grand! Rah for Placebo and Thom Yorke!
Overall movie was splendidly bizarre, but too glittery to criticise. All of the performances were v. g.: Eddie Izzard, Toni Collette, Christian Bale. And besides, who needs plot when JRM and Ewan are snogging? Not I!

Posted by: Nina on 09.08.03 01:11<3 @ you because I have been dying to watch "Velvet Goldmine" for a couple weeks now. It must be wonderful because Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Ewan McGregor AND Christian Bale are in it and what badness can come from that?
Posted by: Lauren on 09.08.03 21:44Why didn't my last comment show up? Stupid thing.
Anyway, it was merely a speculation on the sheer brilliance of "Velvet Goldmine" because it contains not only Jonathan Rhys Meyers (who was quite fabulous in "Bend it Like Beckham", except at the end when he ran and it looked rather like he nanced instead), but Ewan McGregor and Christian Bale as well. Such a conglomeration cannot possibly create badness in any shape and/or form.
