<Yesterday>I missed the bus this

<Yesterday>I missed the bus this morning, probably because I took the time to paint my toenails. I mean, I most likely would have missed the bus anyway, but when you're in a rush, it's not the best idea to stop and paint your nails. But I had to, you see. I was wearing an off-white peasant top with flowy sleeves, and the only thing I had to wear with it was my denim skirt, and then the only shoes that would go with both the top and the skirt were open-toed. So I had to paint my toes. xP

I have academic access English every Friday, right? Since I missed school last Friday, I missed academic access. So today in class he asked everyone to get some paper out and I raised my hand and said I wasn't here last Friday.

"The good news," he said, "is that I'll give you this paper." And he gave it to me. "The bad news is that you won't get any credit for it because you had to come in before class and ask about it."

So I was like, "Grr." But I said, "Okay." Then I quickly do the sheet of analogies and then he goes over the answers and asks people to pass them up. "I just did them before you read out the answers," I tell him. "Should I hand it in?"

He says, "Okay, I'll let you get away with it this time." And I'm like, "Yessssss!"

Then we take this practice PSAT thing and there are fifteen questions. At the end of fifteen minutes he goes over the answers and then we have to tally up our scores [correct answers are worth 1 point, wrong answers worth -1/4, and questions left blank are 0] says, "Well, I don't expect anyone to get fourteen, thirteen, or twelve, but how about eleven? Anyone get eleven?" And then I raise my hand and meekly say, "I got thirteen and three-fourths." >D Go me.

Okay, new topic. So there's this really cute junior whom I see in the hallways sometimes who is sex on toast, but I saw him from the side for the first time today, and OMG, his nose is like. . . well, it's extremely Snape-esque. Which I totally wasn't expecting. But don't worry, I'll still continue to admire him from afar. It adds character to his profile. ;D

In German today, young Will Bruce was wearing an Unlimited Sunshine t-shirt and I was like, "OMG! Will Bruce, did you go to that?" And he quoth, "Yea, verily." And I was like, "OMG! So did I!!!" And he quoth, "Really?" in a kind of "Are you serious? You're the last person I'd expect to have attended that concert." sort of voice. And I was like, "Yeah." And then he said that Michael Bostock, who sits betwixt us, had also gone, and then Mike was all, "Did you like the Flaming Lips?" And I was like, "They were really weird." And he's like, "They were amazing." or something along those lines. And then Will asked me who I went for, and I said all sheepishly, "Cake." And Mike was like, "Ew, Cake. Snotty, intellectual rock." or something. And then he imitated the sound of Cake and we laughed because Mike is amusing. And then Will Bruce was like, "No, Cake is cool." And then Mike was like, "De La Soul was cool. They were all, 'I love myself! Now you say it!'" Good times, good times.

Immediately after I got home from school. Wait. I'm getting ahead of myself. First I would like to say that Milessa [sic] was reading "The Lovely Bones" on the bus, and it took me a minute to connect the title with the plot, but then I was like, "OMG! You have to lend me that!" And she's like, "Well, it's my sister's, and two other people already asked to borrow it, but after that, you can read it." :D

Now to after school. Immediately after I got home from school, my mater asked, "Do you want to see Spirited Away?" And I was like, "Hell, yes." And she's like, "Okay, then to see it at 4:15, we have to jump in the car right now and pick up Colin and Nora before they get on the bus." So we drive to Copper Beech, pick up the little squirts, and head downtown.

Except there's an accident and we're stuck in slow traffic and we arrive at the Ritz ten minutes after the movie started. And then Colin's all whingey and "I don't want to see it if we miss the beginning," so we decide to hang around until the 7:00 showing. So we go next door to a Chinese restaurant and have dinner there. For desert we had green tea ice cream, which was crazy-go-nuts weird. Like, the taste was all right, but there was this freaky-deaky texture to it which gave you the feeling you were eating sand. Which is okay, if you like that sort of thing. But then I poured a packet of sugar in the dish and stirred it up and ate it a lick at a time, and it wasn't so bad then. ^^;

We still had an hour or so before the movie began by the time we finished eating. So we hung out at "Welcome Park" and read about William Penn and played tag and stuff. xD Fun times.

And then it was 6:45 and we walked to the movie theater.

Spirited Away was crazy-weird, but crazy-funny and crazy-cute. Definitely see it. =)
</Yesterday>

This morning Allison and I hung out at the local Wawa for two hours, collecting money and dispersing bags of peanuts for the local Kiwanis club. So that's two hours of community service down, thirteen to go.

And then the whole family took a trip to the SPCA. Romeo still hasn't shown up and Malvolio is lonely. ;-; But I still have faith in my darling Romeo. I read this article once about a cat who like walked across the entire continent [or something like that] and then returned to his owners, so maybe he's just taking a vacation. =\ Well, anyway, we picked out an all-black cat who is very sweet. Her name is "Thunder," but I don't know if we're going to keep that name or my dad's going to rename her Rosalind or Hermia or Olivia or Viola or something silly.

Also, if anyone wants to buy me a Blogger messenger bag, that would be fun.

"We grow tyrannical fighting tyranny. The most alarming spectacle today is not the spectacle of the atomic bomb in an unfederated world, it is the spectacle of the Americans beginning to accept the device of loyalty oaths and witchhunts, beginning to call anybody they don't like a Communist."
-E.B. White, writer (1899-1985)

I got that quote in my A.Word.A.Day mailing list. I like it. ^_^

The Lovely Bones looks quite different. I'm not sure if I'd want to read it yet, so when you're done just let me know how it was, for I trust your opinion. ;)

Also, YOU are a local Wawa.

when you say hang out you make it sound like we were doing drugs..and we definitely were not.
Oh and I choose (b) pikachu.

The Lovely Bones was wonderful. It deserves to be number one on the best-seller list. I read it in August, I think, but now it's on hold at the library for my little sister, as she has impeccable taste in books (or, the stuff I like, she usually likes).

Me? Whingey? You are the bint here. If we did your idea, we'd go in, and the guy would say "Run, you shouldn't be here!" and she would run and then come to a door and then everyone would shout "DON'T GO IN THERE" and you'd say "Why?" and then everyone would yell at you, and you wouldn't understand who she was trying to save and stuff.

the Ritz?! You have a cinema called the Ritz? How COOL! The Ritz being a really, really, really, really, really (um, you get the idea) POSH hotel in London ;)
You could go around saying "oh, look at me, I'm going to the Ritz!" and HA, that would be so cool.

sorry.

I deeply apologize for my previous comment. It was rude and uncalled for. I was speechless, but for some odd reason was compelled to show my speechlessness. Now, however, I have formed my opinions, and have placed them where all can see them. Such opinions can be found on my web-site. However, not everyone knows my web-site address, so I shall merely repost my opinions for all to see here:

"I can't wait 'till Monday. *waits for the gasps* Yes, I'm actually looking forward to Monday. Well, part of it anyway. I'm still horrified of it... It's just that I have something to brighten my day. I'm going to ask E. B. (do we call her that because we don't know how to spell her name, or is it she reads all this and doesn't know itÂ’s her?) out on a date. It's going to be HILARIOUS. It should make lab perfectly awkward. *fiendish smile* (Though I still remain neutral in relation to her, despite the alignment I exude.) It should get the kids behind me to laugh, and that's what's important. I'm taking imaginary bets on what happens (You give me the amount on the left, I give you the reciprocal of that number if you are correct):

1:1 odds. (If for, you think she will say no.)
1:2 odds. (If for, you think she will burst out laughing.)
1:3 odds. (If for, you think she will burst out laughing and roll on the floor.)
1:4 odds. (If for, you think she will burst out laughing, and mess her jeans.)
1:5 odds. (If for, you think she will burst out laughing, and mess her mini-skirt.)
1:6 odds. (If for, you think she will burst out laughing, swear a couple of times to God, try to compose herself, then burst out laughing again.)
1:10000000000000000 (If for, you think she will say yes.)
1:1000000000000000000 (If for, you think she will swoon in delight, unfortunately at the exact time that she was lighting the Tyrell burner, causing her highly flammable clothing to ignite, resulting in a cooked Berd.)

Man, I gotta get to one of those drunken orgies that Kate was talking about..."

Oh my...nice comment Ryan. I'll take 1:1000000000000000000 (If for, you think she will swoon in delight, unfortunately at the exact time that she was lighting the Tyrell burner, causing her highly flammable clothing to ignite, resulting in a cooked Berd.)
I would enjoy it so much...nah I'd feel bad for her pretty quickly..don't like her, don't want her on fire though...
