I was taking notes in

I was taking notes in chemistry today and I started thinking about. . .

What if our society collapsed? Kind of along the lines of the Roman Empire, and then with the Dark Age-type period with much ignorance & superstition following it. So what if in the future people were trying to rebuild it and they found a high school student's backpack with notes on science and history and math and crizzap and that's all the information they had of today's modern knowledge and stuff?

And then I was going to use that for NaNoWriMo, but it was too complicated and I'm too lazy to create a future society.

I def. think about that a lot. Usually in World Civ.

Our society today parallels the failing Roman Empire. That's an interesting idea.

That'd be pretty fun. And horribly painful. But fun.

Check out Gathering Blue by Lois Lowry. Same lines of reverting backwards in civilization.

And we read this awesome short story among those lines in freshman english, but I don't remember what it was called.
