Last night I attended a birthday celebration chez Ryan Collins, which was quite enjoyable. =) I went to Barnes & Noble to buy him a present, and now I've gotten all sorts of ideas for winter solstice gifts. Honestly, I lovelovelove books. I could spend the rest of my life in a bookstore, especially if it had a nice café, as B&N has. <3

NaNoWriMo count: 15,404 and I swear I am going to get 50,000 by the end of this week. I don't know how I'm going to do it, but mark my words, I WILL.

Also, today is Sunday. I'm sure some of you noticed that I forgot to do my little friend appreciation thing last week, and I'll have you know that that was entirely intentional. Because, you see . . . well, Colin is such a dear friend I decided to dedicate two weeks of friend appreciation to him. Er, yes, that's it. Anyway, now for this week.

Deirdre
I've known Deirdre for quite some time in online years [one normal month = one online year], and as I've gotten to know her, I think I've begun to appreciate her worth more and more. Last year, when I had that rabid crush on He-Who-Won't-Be-Named, she was extremely supportive of me to no end and boosted my self-esteem, and even drew me that cute picture. <3 Now I'm old and bitter and have a cynical attitude towards love, but she gives me hope yet. It seems like whenever I talk to her, she's in love. :D And that is an inspiring thing. Also, whenever she IMs me, she greets me with ALL-CAPS and exclamation marks and that makes me feel quite loved. So, yes. She's a real sweetheart and I love talking to her. And because she's online at the same time I am so rarely, our conversations are all the more special. :D

I can't believe that in the wake of my postal triumph I have been passed over yet again in order to preserve some alphabetically-biased cockamamy scheme.

You have cafés in bookshops? That's so unfair. Now I feel really ripped off.
I'm going to have to make "eat in a bookshop's café" one of my ambitions.

Yay for Dee! XD

Yay Dee! And see, now I'm confused, 'cos there are two Dees. >_

He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, eh? I should start calling my parallel crush that name, if you don't mind.
